The "Austintatious" Inter-regional Meet will take place in the Texas State Capital of Austin. The "Austintatious" Committee invites you and your guests to attend the 34th National Inter-regional Meet from March 23 to 26 in Texas. Some of you are probably wondering what ""Austintatious"" means. Well, it means that Austin is eclectic - a mix of big city and small town, fast-paced and laid-back, business and leisure. This event will celebrate our unique cars along with several aspects of life in the Capital City of Texas. Activities will include:
· Breakfast Runs to Uniquely Austin Sites
· Driving Tour of Texas Hill Country
· Technical Seminars
· Austin History Tour
· Texas State History Museum
· Ladies' Event
· Charity Rolls-Royce and Bentley Car Show
· Texas Barbecue at a Mansion
· Party at the Rolls-Royce/Bentley Dealership
· National RROC Board Meeting
· Rolls-Royce Foundation Board Meeting
· Vendors' Market
· Club Stores
This event would be an excellent opportunity to organize a Spring Time Drive to Austin. We would like to encourage Members to organize small Tours to travel to the Meet. Bill Casey of Pittsburgh recently organized such a tour which ended in Toronto. They met in Erie and traveled to Toronto. This style of small tour is named in honor of Sam Rawlins who was searching for ways to encourage more Pre-War Cars to attend meets.
Please let us know if you would like to organize a group to join together and tour to the Austin Meet. It is easy. Pick a meeting point. Select a route and then a few overnight stops along the way. Let us know what you have in mind and we will spread the word.
This will definitely be a Meet with Texas flair. Bring your boots and bonnets. The Texas Region Committee has planned an exciting and fun filled time in the heart of Texas as springtime arrives and the wildflowers abound.
