Martha serenades a Bentley

Another great turn out, for another Great weekend.  The weekend kicked off bright and early Saturday morning for a scenic drive that lead to the Myers’ private collection of British automobiles at Skunk River Restorations in Ames, IA. The tour continued to Williams,IA to view the extensive Hemken Collection of Packards, Studebakers, Hudson, Nash, Stutzand other vehicles

Steve and Martha hosted their 3 rd annul Dinner of the eve of the Salisbury House show, and again they did not disappoint, cocktails and hordevers as we mingle and admired 4 generations of PMCs (Proper Motor Cars) driven by members; Clouds, Shadow, Spur and Bentely GT.  A Bagpipe serenade by Martha signaled the start of a 3 entree dinner severed up by Steve and Martha,  followed by 3 desserts, courtesy of Donna Ibenthal (RROC member and dessert designer!)

Sunday the Salisbury Concours d’Elegance again showed why it sets the "standard" for classic automobile shows.  This year Brian's absolutely gorgeous 1958 Sand/Sable Siver Cloud was accepted into the show.  An excellent original Cloud with a Radford bumper stool to boot (no pun intended).

This years Salisbury featured classes included  Porche;  quite the field of 356's and 911s, Plus the  Forgotten Fiberglass: low production, fiberglass-bodied automobiles from the 1950s and 1960s, such as the Tiburon, Kaiser Darrin, Kurtis 500M, Avanti, Woodill Wildfire, and the Glasspar G2 roadster.

Of course the Salisbury always has the finest field of automobiles marques of innovation and distinction, manufactured between 1923 and 1960.

Thanks to all the members that made this a memorable weekend of fun and friendship.
